The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocco shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burnett as he avoids it easily.
Burnett went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

and Burnett makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Rocco shoots in and gets a takedown into Burnett's guard.

It looks like Rocco might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Burnett is nestled in close to Rocco, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Rocco closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Burnett did well to prevent Rocco getting side control.

Burnett manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Rocco keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Burnett is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rocco can do to turn this around?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burnett shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rocco napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Burnett has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rocco is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Burnett yanks on the arm and Rocco is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Burnett.
