PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Archie Trew (ranked 1301 p4p, 59 weight class) and Chip Chocolate (ranked 1525 p4p, 70 weight class). Trew kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fuck You - Lily Allen. Chocolate has chosen Cookie Dance as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Archie Trew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Chocolate!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chocolate gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Chocolate tries to keep at a distance but Trew has taken the fight into the clinch.
Chocolate is looking to control Trew's arms but Trew gets an underhook and turns him. Now Chocolate has his back to the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on Chocolate - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Chocolate's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Chocolate continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Trew creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Chocolate's defenses.


It looks like Chip Chocolate has been cut.
Our sources have told us that Trew has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Trew's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Trew closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Chocolate avoids the elbow strike from Trew, against the cage.

Chocolate gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Chocolate thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Trew throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Chocolate dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Chocolate blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Chocolate is breathing heavily.

Trew manages to break the clinch.
Chocolate pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Trew fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Chocolate.

and Chocolate counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Chocolate drives through with a takedown into Trew's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Chocolate felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chocolate is on top in guard.

Trew lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Chocolate has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chip Chocolate showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Trew is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chocolate.

Chocolate throws a nice looking combination but Trew bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Trew swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Chocolate.

Chocolate shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Chocolate misses with a straight left.
Chocolate circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fighters circle momentarily. Chocolate darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


Archie Trew's cut is getting worse.
Trew misses with a wild body shot.
Chocolate throws a hook but Trew avoids it easily.
Trew thinks about countering with a head kick.

Chocolate clinches up with Trew and pushes him back against the cage.
Trew lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Archie Trew has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chip Chocolate.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Trew lands a good knee to the midsection. Chocolate won't want to take too many of those.

No joy there for Chocolate, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looked like Trew wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Trew cracks the inside of Chocolate's front leg.
Trew looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Trew looks to throw the jab but Chocolate is out of range.

Trew moves into range and clinches up with Chocolate.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Trew breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chip Chocolate is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
A decent looking cross lands there for Trew.

And that's the end of the fight!
Archie Trew showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Chocolate has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
