Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Haywood Badger (ranked 3999 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 4066 p4p, 0 weight class). Haywood Badger is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Haywood Badger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Badger stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Badger with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pettis to score with a decent uppercut.
Pettis moves away from the strike by Badger.
Badger is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pettis.
Pettis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Badger.
Pettis throws a jab but it's blocked by Badger.
It looked like Badger wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Haywood Badger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Badger throws an overhand right that lands on Pettis's shoulder, as Pettis tries to avoid the shot.
Badger has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Badger is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pettis.
Badger throws a front kick aimed at Pettis's knee but Pettis avoids it well.

and Pettis counters with a single leg into guard. Badger didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pettis drops back looking for a leg! Badger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Badger manages to kick Pettis off! Pettis jumps back into Badger's guard.
Badger not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Badger looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pettis passes into half guard.
Pettis thows a huge punch but Badger dodges it nicely.
Badger is not content to let Pettis control the position.
Badger wants to control but Pettis is keeping busy.
Badger has hold of Pettis's hands but Pettis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pettis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Badger defending well though.
Badger is trying to get back to full guard.
Pettis drops an elbow to the side of Badger's head.
Pettis tries to pass to full mount but Badger defends it.
Pettis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Pettis working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Badger's thigh. Badger counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Pettis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Badger swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Badger is looking for a triangle but Pettis pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Badger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pettis defends well.
Pettis passes Badger's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pettis is looking for a kimura but Badger is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pettis to get the leverage.

Pettis working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Badger is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Pettis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pettis is looking to take a break and control but Badger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pettis advances nicely into full mount.
Badger tries to hold on but Pettis postures up.
Badger is working to get back to half guard.

Pettis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Pettis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Badger has worked his arm free - good work by Badger!

Badger is wriggling around trying to escape.

Pettis content just to control the position here.
Pettis has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Badger's face.

Badger wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Pettis has managed to slip his arm under Badger's chin. This could be all over... yep, Badger is tapping out! Submission win for Pettis.
