Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Wilfred Keter (ranked 7304 p4p, 411 weight class) and Ken Irrawaddy (ranked 3965 p4p, 334 weight class). Irrawaddy has chosen Laos Rules! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Irrawaddy!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irrawaddy throws a body shot but no joy.
Keter tried to counter with a leg kick but Irrawaddy avoided it.
Irrawaddy lands a nice shot that snaps Keter's head back.
A shot to the liver by Irrawaddy. Beautiful body shot.
Irrawaddy misses with an uppercut
and Keter counters with a three punch combo that has Irrawaddy backing up. Irrawaddy nods at Keter to acknowledge the strikes.
Keter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Irrawaddy throws out the jab.
Keter swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Irrawaddy lands a glancing blow to the side of Keter's head.
Keter lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Irrawaddy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Keter was well out of range. Poor timing from Irrawaddy.
Irrawaddy tries to bum rush Keter with a series of wild strikes but Keter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As Irrawaddy backs away, Keter returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Keter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Irrawaddy takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Irrawaddy throws a body punch but Keter moves out of range.

Irrawaddy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Keter, pushing him back against the ropes.
Keter lands with a short shot to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Irrawaddy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Keter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Irrawaddy lands a nice shot that snaps Keter's head back.
Ken Irrawaddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Irrawaddy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Irrawaddy looks to land a combination but Keter avoids it well.

A close round but Ken Irrawaddy will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A nice side step and Irrawaddy releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Keter throws a solid leg kick but Irrawaddy takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Keter.

Ken Irrawaddy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Keter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Keter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Keter using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Irrawaddy has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Irrawaddy counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Irrawaddy throws the left hand but Keter avoids the punch easily.
Keter was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Keter throws a front kick that sends Irrawaddy stumbling back into the ropes.

Ken Irrawaddy is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Keter throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Ken Irrawaddy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Irrawaddy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
