The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rochester pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Marciano uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rochester.
Marciano moves to clinch but Rochester breaks away
and Rochester counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

enabling Marciano to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Arlo Rochester has been cut.

Marciano closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Marciano tries to throw a body punch but Rochester avoids it by throwing Marciano back against the ropes.

Rochester breaks the clinch.
Marciano fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rochester fails to land the takedown.
And Marciano tries to counter it with a takedown but Rochester pushes his down on his head and steps out.

A decent looking cross lands there for Rochester.

Marciano closes the distance and clinches.

Rochester breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Marciano is trying to maintain a safe position but Rochester gets an underhook and turns Marciano into the ropes.

Rochester's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

It looked like Rochester wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Marciano tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Marciano uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rochester.
Rochester jabs Marciano right on the nose. Marciano blinks but takes it well.
Rocky Marciano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rochester connects with a body shot that sends Marciano's belly button to the back.
Rochester scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rochester moves out of range as Marciano strikes.

Marciano throws a head punch that misses.
Marciano is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Rochester breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rochester darts in looking for a takedown but Marciano gets double underhooks and turns Rochester into the ropes.

and Marciano takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Marciano is rocked!
Rochester shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Marciano takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Rochester sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Marciano bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
