PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jamil Westwood (ranked 24565 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetrious Waters (ranked 3279 p4p, 0 weight class). Demetrious Waters told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Westwood rushes Waters and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Waters looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Waters on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Waters has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Westwood is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Westwood lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Westwood drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Waters gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Waters postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Westwood wriggles free and stands up.
Waters shoots in for a takedown but Westwood shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jamil Westwood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demetrious Waters.
Westwood plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Waters shoots in but no luck this time.
Westwood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Westwood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Waters on the ground.

Westwood gets control of Waters's arms and successfully pulls guard. Westwood will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Waters working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Westwood's head.

Waters is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Waters connects with a couple of short punches.
Waters gets to his feet and stands over Westwood, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Westwood felt that one! Waters unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Westwood from any more punishment!
