Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Valdaev (ranked 6867 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devonn Dallas (ranked 4233 p4p, 0 weight class). Devonn Dallas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maxim Valdaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Devonn Dallas!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdaev dives in for a single leg takedown but Dallas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Valdaev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dallas as he jumps to the side.
Valdaev definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Valdaev drives through with a takedown into Dallas's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Dallas wants to stand and escape but Valdaev is having none of it.
Valdaev trying to control the position from guard on top but Dallas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dallas preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Valdaev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Valdaev is looking to work some ground and pound but Dallas has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valdaev in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dallas is looking to stand up but Valdaev isn't so interested in that idea.
Valdaev is stalling in the full guard.
Dallas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valdaev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Valdaev wants to control from the top but Dallas keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dallas wants to stand but Valdaev is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Valdaev gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dallas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Valdaev is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dallas defends well.
Dallas landing with the ground and pound.
Valdaev is trying to control the position but Dallas postures up.

Dallas working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Valdaev's head.

Valdaev isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dallas stacks Valdaev on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dallas!
Valdaev manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Valdaev manages to get to full guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dallas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Valdaev looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Valdaev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dallas works over Valdaev with some ground and pound from guard.
Dallas content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Dallas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dallas working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Valdaev's head.
Dallas stands up over Valdaev, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Valdaev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dallas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Valdaev trying to keep a closed guard but Dallas is proving a slippery customer.

Valdaev is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Valdaev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Valdaev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dallas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Valdaev is tightening it up a little... Dallas has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Dallas reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Dallas taps out! Nice BJJ there by Valdaev!

After winning the bout, Maxim Valdaev thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
