PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kev McKill (ranked 4576 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Massacre (ranked 4707 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McKill might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Welcome to the jungle, Guns n Roses.. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Massacre !
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - Massacre finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Massacre throws a body punch but McKill moves out of range.
McKill seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Massacre finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
McKill lands with a nice combination. Massacre backs away looking to recover.
A nice leg kick lands there from Massacre .
Massacre throws a leg kick but McKill sees it coming and moves out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Massacre 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A head kick misses from Massacre .
Massacre misses with a head kick.
Massacre lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Massacre gets tackled into the cage by McKill . McKill maintains the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McKill prevents Massacre from breaking the clinch.

McKill jumps guard.
Massacre trying to control the position from guard on top but McKill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McKill is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Massacre wants to get back to full guard.

Massacre looking for subs from the bottom but McKill mounts him!
McKill tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Massacre working to try and regain half guard.
McKill content just to control the position here.
McKill fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Massacre is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

McKill landing strikes, looking to finish!
Massacre is trying desperately to improve position.

McKill working for a guillotine from mount but Massacre is in no mood to give up.
McKill controlling from mount.
McKill has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
This is a sustained period of stalling by McKill .
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McKill is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Massacre to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Massacre shrugs it off.

McKill controlling the position easily from mount.
Massacre keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
McKill is landing with some decent strikes but Massacre is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Massacre tries to hold on but McKill pushes him away.
Massacre really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McKill . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Massacre is desperately trying to improve his position but McKill has a good base and remains in mount.
McKill controlling his opponent.

McKill looking for a guillotine from mount but Massacre is having none of it.
McKill pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Massacre in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKill tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Massacre wants to control but McKill is having none of it.
Massacre keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Massacre is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
McKill controlling from the full mount.
Massacre can't escape the position.
Massacre wants to hold on but McKill pushes him away.
Massacre is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kev McKill dominated that round.
That's time! McKill 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Massacre misses with a body punch

so McKill counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Massacre looking for submissions from the bottom but instead McKill passes into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Massacre sneaks back into half guard.

McKill is working for a submission of some sort.
McKill keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Massacre tries to get to full guard but McKill has control of the leg.
McKill not doing much here.

Massacre looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

McKill takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Massacre is looking to improve his position.
Ground and pound from McKill .
McKill moves into full mount! Massacre won't be happy about that!
McKill looking to control and managing it successfully.
Massacre regains half guard.
McKill is taking a breather. Massacre says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
McKill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Massacre can do to turn this around?

McKill is trying for a kimura here. Massacre looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! McKill wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kev McKill !
Kev McKill was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
