The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diarmada paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wright dives in and grabs Diarmada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Diarmada pushes down on Wright's head and hops out.
Diarmada leaves Wright with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Diarmada is looking for the big counter here.
Ethan Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diarmada looks to land a combination. Wright sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Wright closes the distance and clinches up with Diarmada, looking for a takedown. Wright pushes Diarmada against the cage but Diarmada circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Wright looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Diarmada can't hide his disappointment, as Wright celebrates the victory.
