Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Ethan Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Trev Diarmada!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diarmada paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wright dives in and grabs Diarmada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Diarmada pushes down on Wright's head and hops out.
Diarmada leaves Wright with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Diarmada is looking for the big counter here.
Ethan Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diarmada looks to land a combination. Wright sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Nice takedown defense from Diarmada. No joy for Wright on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ethan Wright. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wright closes the distance and clinches up with Diarmada, looking for a takedown. Wright pushes Diarmada against the cage but Diarmada circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wright is defended easily by Diarmada.

Wright shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Diarmada as he avoids it easily.
Diarmada tries to clinch there but Wright circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wright gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Diarmada must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Wright seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wright shoots and misses
and Diarmada counters with a two punch combo.
Diarmada fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wright tries for a takedown but Diarmada circles away easily
and Diarmada connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Diarmada dives in for a single leg takedown but Wright sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Diarmada closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wright did well to prevent Diarmada getting side control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Diarmada really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Diarmada can do anything to dispel that myth.

Diarmada throws an elbow that misses. Wright uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Diarmada's guard. Nice move by Wright!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wright loads up on a big left hand. Diarmada felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Wright looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Diarmada can't hide his disappointment, as Wright celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ethan Wright!
