And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyron Woody!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woody moves to clinch but Curtis breaks away
and Curtis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Woody with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Woody dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Woody. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Woody.
Woody tries to clinch
and Curtis counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Tyron Woody has been cut.
Woody throws an off balance right hand
and Curtis counters with a straight right hand.
Woody will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Curtis went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Woody misses with a lunging right hand
and Curtis counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Woody looks to clinch
and Curtis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've been told by Curtis's head coaches at Panda Sprawl n Brawl that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Woody works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Curtis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Woody.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Woody lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Curtis backs up against the cage.
Nice defenses there by Curtis.
Curtis on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Woody throws a series of punches but Curtis moves out of range.
Woody lands the left hand.
Woody fails with the takedown
and Curtis counters with a nice uppercut.
Woody rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Curtis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Curtis walks into a straight right hand from Woody.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Woody throws a predictable looking body shot

and Curtis counters with a nice right hand that sends Woody toppling to the canvas! Woody scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Curtis finish him?!


Woody is rocked!
Woody throws a hook but Curtis blocks it.
Curtis swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Woody struggles to land a body shot inside as Curtis controls his hands.

Curtis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Woody misses with a body shot.
Woody throws a series of punches but Curtis moves out of range.
Curtis swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Woody throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Curtis to counter with a crisp jab.


That has opened up Tyron Woody's cut even more.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Woody, as that shot connected.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Curtis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Woody fails to land the takedown.
Curtis was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Woody's jab looks to have found its range, popping Curtis under the eye.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A jab from Woody finds it's way through Curtis's defenses.

Woody moves into range and clinches up with Curtis.
Curtis prevents the takedown attempt.
Topher Curtis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyron Woody.
Curtis stalling in the clinch but Woody improves position.
Woody struggles to land a body shot inside as Curtis controls his hands.

Curtis breaks from the clinch.
Woody uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Curtis.
Woody lands with an overhand left.


Curtis is rocked!
Woody is stalking Curtis. Curtis circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Woody, and it's lights out! Curtis really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tyron Woody!
Topher Curtis was interviewed post fight and said 'Everybody loses sometimes which means he got lucky today. Next time we meet will result in a broken jaw.'.
