Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Al Sanchez (ranked 6763 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borat Sagdiyev (ranked 4732 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Al Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Borat Sagdiyev!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Sagdiyev looking for submissions off his back.

Sanchez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sagdiyev doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sanchez.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sanchez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sagdiyev doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sanchez.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sagdiyev wants to improve his position but Sanchez is controlling well.

Sanchez stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Sagdiyev to get to his feet.
Sagdiyev shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanchez sprawls well. He's pushed Sagdiyev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sanchez tries to counter by clinching up but Sagdiyev breaks away and moves out of range.
Sanchez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sagdiyev sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Sanchez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Sanchez is looking for a kimura but Sagdiyev is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sanchez to get the leverage.

Sagdiyev is looking for a sweep. Sanchez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sanchez is trying to work for a kimura but Sagdiyev is defending well.
Sagdiyev wants to improve his position but Sanchez is controlling well.

Sagdiyev is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sanchez pulls his head out easily.

Sagdiyev with the active half guard here but Sanchez passes nicely into side control.

Sanchez decides to stand back up. Sanchez steps back and let's Sagdiyev get back to his feet.

and Sanchez counters with a two punch combo.

Sanchez stuffs the takedown attempt from Sagdiyev. Sagdiyev gets slowly back to his feet.
Al Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Borat Sagdiyev.

Sanchez gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sagdiyev regains guard.
Sanchez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sagdiyev on the ground.

Sagdiyev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanchez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sagdiyev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sanchez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sagdiyev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sanchez defends it easily.

Sanchez wants to get up but he can't break Sagdiyev's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sagdiyev has his foot on Sanchez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanchez works his way back into a safe position though.

Sagdiyev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sanchez defends it easily.

Sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sagdiyev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Sagdiyev's legs - danger averted.

Sanchez stands up and beckons Sagdiyev to his feet.

Sanchez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sagdiyev tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sanchez just stands there and leans against the cage.

Sanchez pulls Sagdiyev into guard.

Sagdiyev drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sanchez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sanchez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sanchez!

The strikes coming from Sanchez are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Sagdiyev is looking to regain half guard here but Sanchez keeps moving and retains side control.

Sagdiyev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanchez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Al Sanchez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sagdiyev is breathing heavily.

Sanchez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sagdiyev has his foot on Sanchez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanchez works his way back into a safe position though.

Sanchez gets to his feet - Sagdiyev follows without any prompting.

Sagdiyev gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sanchez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sanchez drops back looking for a leg! Sagdiyev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sagdiyev manages to kick Sanchez off! Sanchez jumps back into Sagdiyev's guard.

Sagdiyev looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Sanchez is defending well. Sagdiyev quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Sanchez has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Sagdiyev celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
