PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johny Boom (ranked 3014 p4p, 315 weight class) and Kron Gracie (ranked 1728 p4p, 207 weight class). Gracie has chosen ROYCE GRACIE as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kron Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Boom tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gracie is in Boom's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie is pushing down on Boom's leg trying to pass to half guard. Boom is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.
Boom trying to hold on to Gracie's head to control him but Gracie postures up.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Boom is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Boom bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Kron Gracie dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Gracie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Boom sprawls well initially but Gracie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gracie has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Boom is in trouble now - Gracie has advanced to mount!

Boom slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Gracie is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Boom wants to control but Gracie is having none of it.

Boom tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Boom stops Gracie from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Gracie goes for an armbar but Boom turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Boom.
Boom is pushing down on Gracie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gracie is fighting to maintain full guard but Boom has managed to sneak the leg through.
Boom definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Boom is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Boom fails to move to back control.
Gracie manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Boom uses his free foot to push down on Gracie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gracie.
Boom with a couple of short strikes.

Boom prevents Gracie from getting the reversal.
Boom is looking to take Gracie's back but instead Gracie gets back to half guard. Nice work.

We've been informed that Gracie has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Boom is pressing down on Gracie's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gracie is holding on for now.
Kron Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.

That was a close second round but I would say that Johny Boom will probably get the nod.
That's time! Boom's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Boom won't allow Gracie to pass to mount.

I would just about give that final round to Kron Gracie.
Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
