Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perdue Willshire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raphael Firenzi!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Willshire enables Firenzi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Willshire manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Firenzi is looking to work some ground and pound but Willshire has wrist control.
Firenzi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Firenzi lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Firenzi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Firenzi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Willshire is keeping the position for now.
Willshire has momentary wrist control but Firenzi slips an elbow through the middle.
Firenzi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Willshire keeping moving, preventing Firenzi from controlling successfully.
Willshire knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Firenzi on the ground.

Firenzi gets to his feet - Willshire follows without any prompting.
Firenzi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Willshire takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Firenzi scores with a jab. Willshire acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Firenzi lands with a slapping head kick.


Willshire is rocked!
Willshire misses with the combination.
Oh Willshire is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Firenzi avoids the body shot from Willshire.
Willshire seems to have got his legs back now.
Firenzi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Willshire is looking to counter the offense by Firenzi and move into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Firenzi throws a head kick but Willshire moves out of range.
Willshire just misses with a punch to the body.
Firenzi fails to land with a series of punches.
Willshire comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Willshire misses with a body shot
and Firenzi counters with a left and a right that stings Willshire.
Firenzi looks to throw a body kick

and Willshire counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Willshire.
Willshire is trying to stall.
Willshire struggles to land a body shot inside as Firenzi controls his hands.
Firenzi lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Firenzi connects with a nasty looking knee right to Willshire's face.
Willshire blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Willshire wants to stall.
Willshire is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Willshire wants a takedown.
Firenzi has Willshire pressed against the cage.

Willshire breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Firenzi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Willshire is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Firenzi.
Willshire gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Willshire tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Firenzi is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Willshire buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Willshire!! Willshire is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Firenzi throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Raphael Firenzi!
Raphael Firenzi decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
