Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carrol Sweet (ranked 5720 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Padolski (ranked 4665 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carrol Sweet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Padolski!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Padolski shoots in and gets a takedown into Sweet's guard.

Sweet manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Sweet is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Padolski to keep the fight standing.
Sweet tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Padolski's elbow.

Padolski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Padolski scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Sweet bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Padolski comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Padolski.
Sweet is trying to control Padolski's posture but Padolski avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
I wouldn't like to be where Sweet is right now.

Sweet sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Sweet has his hands clasped together around Padolski's back. He's all about the action.
Sweet's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sweet is trying to maintain the position but Padolski is very close to passing his half guard.
Padolski throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sweet throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sweet keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Padolski prevents Sweet from standing back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sweet has closed the distance and engaged Padolski in a clinch.
Sweet tries to pull guard but Padolski holds him up against the cage and eventually Sweet drops back down to his feet.

Sweet escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Padolski rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Sweet counters with a shoot takedown. Padolski fights it but they end up in guard.

Sweet throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Padolski works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Sweet stands and steps away. Padolski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Padolski tries to keep at a distance but Sweet has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sweet trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Sweet is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sweet looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Padolski throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carrol Sweet dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sweet shoots in looking for a takedown. Padolski tries to sprawl out of it but Sweet keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Padolski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Padolski feints the counter takedown.

Padolski moves into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Padolski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Padolski swats away the attempt to clinch by Sweet.

Sweet gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sweet has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Padolski is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Sweet is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sweet pulls Padolski in to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Padolski tries to stand but Sweet is controlling from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Padolski has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sweet to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Padolski is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sweet pulls down on the head and he's put Padolski to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Carrol Sweet!
