The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Maynard is trying to defend but Boy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like Boy is going to stand back up.
Maynard tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Maynard wants to improve his position but Boy is controlling well.
Boy is looking to take a break and control but Maynard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Maynard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Boy.
Maynard won't allow Boy to pass to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Boy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maynard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Maynard is looking to control Boy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Maynard avoid being mounted?

Boy wants to take a breather but Maynard is having none of it.

Boy wants to work for an arm triangle but Maynard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Maynard is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maynard has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boy is proving hard to escape from.

Maynard tries to stand and escape but Boy is controlling the position.
Boy is looking to improve his position.
Maynard lands with a punch from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Boy is trying to get back to full guard.
Boy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Maynard is nestled in close to Boy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Maynard tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Boy.
Boy is looking to get back to full guard here but Maynard has managed to pass to side control instead.
Boy looks to move to half guard but instead Maynard has passed into mount! Damn!
Boy is trying desperately to improve position.

Maynard pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
BOOM! Maynard connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Maynard lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Boy is rocked!
Maynard breaks from Boy's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Boy is still in real trouble! Can Maynard finish him?
Maynard connects with a bit shot that sees Boy covering up! More strikes from Maynard and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Maynard is our winner by TKO!
