Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spude Pulkkinen (ranked 1966 p4p, 249 weight class) and Jure Boban (ranked 2164 p4p, 266 weight class). Jure Boban has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Spude Pulkkinen's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jure Boban!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boban dives in for a single leg takedown but Pulkkinen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Boban dives in and grabs Pulkkinen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pulkkinen pushes down on Boban's head and hops out.
Pulkkinen throws a solid leg kick but Boban takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Pulkkinen.
We've been told by Pulkkinen's head coaches at Jorzi GYM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Boban misses with a jab, cross combination.
A little feinted left hand from Pulkkinen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Pulkkinen defending well as Boban loads up on a big left hand.
Boban takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like Jure Boban has been cut.
Pulkkinen lands a really nice looking cross but Boban seems unphased.
Boban waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pulkkinen.
Pulkkinen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A decent looking cross lands there for Boban.
Boban shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pulkkinen as he jumps to the side.
As Boban backs away, Pulkkinen returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Spude Pulkkinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jure Boban.
Pulkkinen misses with a wild body shot.
And Boban tries to counter it with a takedown but Pulkkinen pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Boban throws a looping overhand right but Pulkkinen ducks down to avoid it.
Boban moves forwards but Pulkkinen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boban fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pulkkinen thinks about countering with a body kick.

Boban's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pulkkinen under the eye.
Boban throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Boban takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The fighters circling - Boban throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Pulkkinen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Pulkkinen scores with a hook to the body. Boban takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Pulkkinen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Boban dives in and grabs Pulkkinen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pulkkinen pushes down on Boban's head and hops out.
Boban lands the left hand.
Boban misses with a lunging right hand
and Pulkkinen counters with an outside leg kick.
Boban just misses with a punch to the body.
Pulkkinen is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Boban throws a poor cross that misses
and Pulkkinen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pulkkinen digs a good body shot into Boban's ribs.

Boban connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Boban throws a jab but it's blocked by Pulkkinen.
Boban tries for a takedown but Pulkkinen circles away easily
and Pulkkinen counters with a slapping leg kick.

Pulkkinen drops Boban with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Boban looks back up at him and smiles so Pulkkinen waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Pulkkinen connects with an inside leg kick.
Jure Boban seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pulkkinen cracks Boban with a good jab.
Boban misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Pulkkinen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Boban is rocked!

That has opened up Jure Boban's cut even more.
Boban checks a low kick from Pulkkinen.

Pulkkinen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Pulkkinen lands a jab to the nose.
Pulkkinen closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Boban! Pulkkinen dives in looking to finish! Boban is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
