Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jambe De Bois (ranked 407 p4p, 55 weight class) and Luther Jackson (ranked 645 p4p, 91 weight class). De Bois's entrance music is Brad Fiedel - Terminator. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luther Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Bois shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.
De Bois keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
De Bois moves out of range as Jackson strikes.

Jackson pushes De Bois up against the cage in a clinch.
Jackson is pressed up against the cage. De Bois has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jackson down to the mat. Jackson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jackson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
De Bois looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jackson looks to score with a jab to the body but De Bois is just out of range.
De Bois shoots for a takedown but Jackson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jackson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck De Bois on the side of the head.
De Bois shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down De Bois rather than just go for the knockout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
De Bois takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

We've been informed that Jackson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Bois closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.
It seemed like Jackson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Luther Jackson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

De Bois ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
De Bois dodges the punch combination from Jackson.
Jackson clobbers De Bois with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A lazy left from Jackson finds it's target.
Jackson leaves De Bois with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jackson throws out a loose jab but De Bois uses good head movement to avoid it.
De Bois misses with an uppercut. Jackson saw that one coming.
Jackson loads up on a big right hand but De Bois slips the punch.

De Bois takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

De Bois got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, De Bois has managed to get both his arms back between Jackson's legs - danger averted.
De Bois wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

De Bois on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if De Bois tries to get out of the position.

I think Jackson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
