The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cruz fails with a takedown attempt.
Collins looks to land a right hand but Cruz moved out of range.
Collins dives in and grabs Cruz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes down on Collins's head and hops out.
Collins takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cruz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Collins.
Cruz lands an overhand right.
Cruz shoots in but Collins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cruz catches Collins with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Cruz motions for Collins to come forward. Cruz throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Cruz fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Cruz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Cruz misses with a double jab.
Collins now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Collins checks the leg kick.

Collins getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Collins stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Collins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cruz.

Cruz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cruz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Cruz is trying to get an arm triangle but Collins is defending well.
Collins tries to buck Cruz off but Cruz is having none of it.
