Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kip Buchanan (ranked 24722 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arveids Skabene (ranked 4472 p4p, 353 weight class). Arveids Skabene has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kip Buchanan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kip Buchanan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arveids Skabene!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skabene pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Buchanan is trying to escape back to his feet but Skabene uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Skabene controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Skabene is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Buchanan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Buchanan tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Buchanan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Buchanan really wants to buck Skabene off and get back to his feet.

Let's hope that Skabene has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Skabene shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Skabene was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Skabene is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Buchanan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Buchanan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Skabene changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Buchanan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Skabene misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Skabene throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Skabene throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Buchanan is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
