Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shelden Mop!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mop shoots in but no luck this time.
Murphy lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Mop is trying hard to land a takedown here. Murphy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Murphy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mop.
It looked like Murphy was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
George Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shelden Mop.
Nice takedown defense from Murphy. No joy for Mop on that attempt.
Murphy appears to be looking for a big counter.
Mop shoots in looking for a takedown but Murphy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mop's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mop shoots in and bounces Murphy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Mop drops back looking for a leg! Murphy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Murphy manages to kick Mop off! Mop jumps back into Murphy's guard.
Murphy is looking to stand up but Mop isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mop thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mop drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mop jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mop drops back, looking for a kneebar! Murphy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Murphy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Murphy!

Murphy wants to stand but Mop has his arm trapped.
Mop manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Mop throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Mop moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Mop looking for a guillotine here but Murphy defends easily.
Mop trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mop throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mop tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mop looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Mop had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Murphy defends it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mop can do anything to dispel that myth.
Murphy wants to get up but he can't break Mop's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Murphy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mop has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Murphy has managed to get both his arms back between Mop's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Mop has a closed guard, preventing Murphy from standing up.

Mop working for a triangle but Murphy defends it easily.

Mop looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Murphy gets to his feet. Mop looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Mop shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Murphy as he jumps to the side.
Mop looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Murphy displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Shelden Mop has been cut.
Murphy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Mop finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Murphy's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Mop falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Murphy!
George Murphy decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
