Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Bolt (ranked 5245 p4p, 479 weight class) and Manny Johnson (ranked 1368 p4p, 185 weight class). Bolt's entrance music is We are the Champions . A fine choice. Johnson has chosen On The Run Jompson Brothers as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Manny Johnson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Robert Bolt!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manny Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolt throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Johnson.
Johnson lands the left hand.
Johnson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Bolt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Johnson.
Bolt tries a low kick but Johnson avoids it.
Bolt drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Bolt throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Bolt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bolt on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Johnson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bolt misses with a hook
and Johnson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Johnson cracks Bolt with a good jab.
Some wild striking there from Bolt.
No joy there for Bolt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bolt takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Johnson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bolt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Nice straight punches there by Johnson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Johnson.

Bolt throws a big shot that misses.
Johnson lands with a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson keeps Bolt at a distance using the push kick.
Johnson lands a jab.
Bolt is rocked!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bolt lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Johnson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Johnson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Manny Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bolt on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Johnson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bolts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Johnson cracks Bolt with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Oh Bolt is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson defending well as Bolt loads up on a big left hand.
Johnson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Bolt seems to have got his legs back now.
Johnson connects with a right hand. Bolt shakes it off.
Johnson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bolt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Johnson, right into the meat.
Johnson thuds his right hand into Bolt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Johnson scores with a hook to the body. Bolt takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A left and a right from Johnson both land. Nice combination.
Johnson scores with the left hand. Bolt knows he should have avoided that one.
A good leg kick by Johnson.

Bolt throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Johnson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bolt is breathing heavily.
Bolt walks into a left hand.
Johnson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bolt had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Bolt has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bolt there as he acknowledges the shot.
Johnson scores with the left hand. Bolt knows he should have avoided that one.
Bolt takes a jab right on the kisser.
Bolt takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Johnson, as that shot connected.
A head kick misses from Bolt.
Bolt tries to move into range but Johnson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Johnson cracks Bolt with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Bolt takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Johnson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Johnson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Johnson. Bolt shrugs it off though.
Johnson scores with a spinning back kick!
Johnson scores with a nice head shot.
Johnson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Johnson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Donk. Johnson catches Bolt right on the button with a cross.
Bolt walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Johnson connects with an inside leg kick.
Johnson jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bolt throws a low kick but Johnson avoids it.
Johnson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bolt is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Johnson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bolt's head.
Bolt's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Johnson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bolt scrambles back to his feet.
Johnson scores with a push kick.
Bolt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Johnson.
Johnson lands a head shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bolt throws a lazy head kick
enabling Johnson to counter with a crisp jab.
Bolt looks to throw a body kick
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Johnson throws a powerful right kick. Bolt tried to block low but the kick was high! Bolt was taken right off of his feet! Johnson jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Manny Johnson!

An out of breath Manny Johnson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Robert Bolt was interviewed post fight and said 'I want to thank everyone who always sticks by me no matter what, I am sorry I could not do you proud here. I will work hard, and I will come back, stronger than ever, for this man, and for that belt again. Thank you Bob, and thank you all.Have a good night. '.
