Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jako Day (ranked 2254 p4p, 287 weight class) and Anthony Castillo (ranked 4243 p4p, 452 weight class). Castillo has chosen Mafia Rap! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jako Day has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jako Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day scores with the left hand. Castillo knows he should have avoided that one.
Castillo shoots in but no luck this time.
Day thinks about countering with a head kick.
Day cracks Castillo with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Castillo avoids the body shot from Day.
Castillo throws a big counter head kick but Day avoids it with no problem.
Castillo goes for a double leg but Day avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Day continues to drive forward.
Day comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Day looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Day tries to bum rush Castillo with a series of wild strikes but Castillo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Castillo! But no joy.

Day gets tackled into the cage by Castillo. Castillo maintains the clinch.

Castillo manages to break the clinch.
Day lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Castillo backs up against the cage.
Castillo tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Day counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Day rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Castillo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Castillo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Day on his heels. He'll look to pass Day's guard now, I'm sure.
Day controls Castillo momentarily but Castillo frees himself.
Day looking to hit a scissor sweep but Castillo is one step ahead there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Castillo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Day manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Day dips to his left and cracks Castillo with an uppercut!

Anthony Castillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Day will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
