PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kile Jr Illl (ranked 6913 p4p, 0 weight class) and Strike Zombie (ranked 5539 p4p, 0 weight class). Jr Illl has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Strike Zombie was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Strike Zombie !
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Jr Illl throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Strike Zombie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zombie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jr Illl moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Zombie takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Strike Zombie has been cut.
Zombie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Zombie fails to land with a series of punches.
Jr Illl is looking to counter punch.
Zombie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jr Illl manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Zombie dives in for a single leg takedown but Jr Illl sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Zombie moves into the clinch successfully.
With the fighters up against the cage, Zombie throws an elbow but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zombie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zombie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jr Illl defends it nicely.

Jr Illl looks to throw the jab but Zombie is out of range.
Zombie drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jr Illl defends it well.
Zombie throws a wild body kick that Jr Illl sees coming a mile off.
Zombie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jr Illl swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zombie uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jr Illl.

Still in half guard, Zombie seems content to control.
It looks like Zombie might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Zombie 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jr Illl tries to get to full guard but Zombie has control of the leg.
Jr Illl might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Zombie takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Jr Illl wants to get back to his feet.

Jr Illl kicks off Zombie and gets to his feet.
Jr Illl is breathing heavily.
Jr Illl keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kile Jr Illl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Strike Zombie .
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zombie fails in his attempt to clinch.

Zombie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jr Illl, pushing him back against the cage.

Zombie 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Zombie wants to clinch up but Jr Illl keeps it at a distance.

Zombie dives in and grabs Jr Illl's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jr Illl pushes down on Zombie 's head and hops out.
Jr Illl circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zombie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A counter left hand to the body from Jr Illl misses its target.
Zombie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jr Illl sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zombie somewhat.
It looked like Jr Illl wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kile Jr Illl is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

As Jr Illl backs off Zombie throws a huge counter combo but Jr Illl manages to avoid it all.
A jab from Jr Illl does it's job there.

The cut man is working on Strike Zombie 's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Zombie lands a leg kick that knocks Jr Illl off balance momentarily.
Jr Illl is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zombie can do to turn this around?

Zombie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Zombie has hold of Jr Illl's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jr Illl tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Zombie cranks the arm and Jr Illl screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jr Illl, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
