Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie White (ranked 653 p4p, 101 weight class) and Yokuni Togashi (ranked 689 p4p, 108 weight class). White comes to the cage accompanied by The Bleeding. Togashi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Imagine Dragons - Radioactive. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ronnie White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yokuni Togashi!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White connects with a crisp jab.
Ronnie White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Togashi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
White lands a nice shot to the body.
White scores with a jab to the jaw.
White lands a head shot.

White throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Togashi was covering up waiting for the punch and White finishes the takedown easily into guard.
White wants to pass the guard but Togashi is keeping the position.
Togashi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
White might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
White trying to control the position from guard on top but Togashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
White slips nicely into half guard.
Togashi is trying to maintain the position but White is very close to passing his half guard.

White wants to take a breather but Togashi is having none of it.

White is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Togashi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time White.

White seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
White working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
White content to control rather than advance.
White seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Togashi for as long as he can get away with.
Togashi is looking for a sweep. White is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
White is pressing down on Togashi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Togashi is holding on for now.
White wants to stand but Togashi has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
White prevents Togashi from improving his position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
White seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with White in particular looking to stall.
White working over Togashi with some ground and pound. Togashi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Togashi is looking to improve his position.

White is controlling the pace.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
White cracks Togashi with a good jab.
Togashi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from White.
Togashi doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Togashi looks to throw a body kick
and Togashi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
White tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Togashi keeps the fight on the outside.
White connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A left lands for White.
Togashi takes a jab right on the kisser.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! White's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

White throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Togashi misses with a straight right.

White has closed the distance and engaged Togashi in a clinch.
White has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Togashi after a bit of a struggle.
White stalling.
Togashi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
White blocks an uppercut.
White lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Togashi's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
White is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Togashi can do to turn this around?

Togashi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Togashi moves out of range of the strikes.
A big left from White misses.
White lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
White feints and then cracks Togashi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Togashi down.
White misses with a left hand
and Togashi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Togashi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

White moves into range and clinches up with Togashi.

White's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
White scoring well with a low kick there.
Togashi misses with a straight right.
White throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Togashi doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Togashi moves into range and connects with a jab.
White throws out a powerful jab.
White misses with a lunging right hand
and Togashi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
White bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Togashi's head.
White lands a two punch combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Togashi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Togashi. White does a little dance to reset his feet.

Togashi looks to throw the jab but White is out of range.
White ducks under a wild hook from Togashi.

White closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Togashi did well to prevent White getting side control.
White is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Togashi is trying to stand back up but White is controlling him
Togashi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with White. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Togashi tries to roll over but White keeps him under control.
White works his foot free and advances to mount.

White is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Togashi has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Togashi!

White escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Togashi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White is pulling down on Togashi's head. It's preventing any offense from Togashi, at least for the moment.
Togashi wants to stand but White is controlling his posture from full guard.
White bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Togashi's guard.

Togashi lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

White looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ronnie White dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


White misses with an uppercut
and Togashi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
White catches Togashi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
White buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
White shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Togashi eats them both and turns towards White to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A low kick from Togashi misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
White throws a hook but Togashi blocks it.
White throws an overhand right that lands on Togashi's shoulder, as Togashi tries to avoid the shot.
Togashi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

White closes the distance and pushes Togashi back into the cage.
Togashi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
White makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
White swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Togashi swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Togashi blocking some punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
White pushes Togashi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Togashi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
White tries to clinch but Togashi moves out of range.

Togashi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from White.

White gets a clinch.
White lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Togashi backwards.
Our sources have told us that White has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

White escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
White fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice shot by White.
Togashi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
White throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Togashi! But no joy.
White cracks the inside of Togashi's front leg.
Togashi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
White fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Togashi on the side of the head.
White misses with a hook. Togashi ducked under it nicely.
Togashi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

White feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
White's corner is telling him to maintain position.

White postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Togashi keeping moving, preventing White from controlling successfully.
Togashi has a closed guard, preventing White from standing up.
Ronnie White overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
White trying to control but Togashi is working from the bottom.
White passes Togashi's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
White works his way into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
White advances to full mount.

White lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
White takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Togashi is squirming around, avoiding White's attempts to control the action.

Yokuni Togashi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

White looking to control but Togashi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
White controlling the position easily from mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Togashi can do anything to dispel that myth.
White fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
White landing shots from mount.
White is landing with some decent strikes but Togashi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Ronnie White showed his dominance in that final round.
Well White has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
