The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yokoi tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sutton. That's going to slow Yokoi down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yokoi tries to keep at a distance but Sutton has taken the fight into the clinch.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Yokoi has eaten all the pies!

Sutton takes the fight into the clinch.

Sutton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sutton drives through and clinches with Yokoi against the cage.
Sutton lands with a right to the head.

Yokoi gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Yokoi is working for a submission of some sort.
Sutton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Yokoi passes the guard and advances to mount!
Sutton tries to reverse the position but Yokoi maintains control.

Yokoi looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sutton has left one of his arms exposed and Yokoi doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Sutton screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

A determined Akumi Yokoi didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
