Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caramon Majere!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Everett Arroyo!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arroyo fails with a takedown attempt.
Everett Arroyo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arroyo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Arroyo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Majere sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Arroyo somewhat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Arroyo.
Caramon Majere has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Everett Arroyo.
Arroyo looks to score with a jab to the body but Majere is just out of range.

Arroyo rushes Majere and presses him up against the cage.

Arroyo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Majere throws a half hearted mid kick.
Arroyo dives in and grabs Majere's left leg, looking for a takedown. Majere pushes down on Arroyo's head and hops out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arroyo takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Everett Arroyo has been cut.
Majere tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Arroyo counters with a takedown into side control.
Majere tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Arroyo trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Majere doesn't escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arroyo throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Arroyo lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Arroyo.

Arroyo is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Majere with him. Majere is trying to defend but Arroyo has an arm under the chin now! Majere grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Everett Arroyo!
