PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zdravko Zdravkov (ranked 2876 p4p, 312 weight class) and Dah Winner (ranked 6370 p4p, 483 weight class). Dah Winner told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zdravkov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Winner 's waist but Winner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zdravkov off to one side.

Zdravkov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Winner 's half guard.
Winner tries to kick Zdravkov off but Zdravkov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Zdravkov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Winner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Zdravkov winds up and cracks Winner with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Winner tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zdravkov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Winner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zdravkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Zdravkov cracks Winner with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Winner from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zdravkov connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Winner to escape the position.
Zdravkov lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

A swing and a miss from Winner .

Winner shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zdravkov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Winner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Zdravkov is looking to cinch up a triangle. Winner throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Zdravkov's body to avoid the submission. Zdravkov has instead reached around Winner 's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Zdravkov arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
