The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Rockefeller throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Alopodis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rockefeller is in Alopodis's guard.

Alopodis is staying active underneath Rockefeller, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Rockefeller goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Alopodis turns into him and now he's in Rockefeller's guard.

Alopodis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rockefeller dives on top into guard.

Rockefeller is pushing down on Alopodis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alopodis is fighting to maintain full guard but Rockefeller has managed to sneak the leg through.
Alopodis has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

We've been hearing good reports from Rockefeller's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alopodis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rockefeller is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rockefeller extends the arm and Alopodis is forced to tap!
