Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Diggs (ranked 1168 p4p, 149 weight class) and Red Brophy (ranked 1671 p4p, 209 weight class). Brophy has chosen JME - The Very Best as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggs lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Brophy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Diggs scores with a nice head shot.
Brophy ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Diggs gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Brophy jabs Diggs right on the nose. Diggs blinks but takes it well.
Diggs lands a jab to the nose.
Diggs misses with a hook to the body
and Brophy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Brophy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Diggs.
Brophy throws the kick towards the body but Diggs avoids it.
Brophy just misses with a punch to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brophy throws a quick inside leg kick.
Brophy works Diggs's body with a nice hook.
Diggs connects with a leg kick. Brophy looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Diggs throws a hook to the side of Brophy's head but Brophy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Diggs looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Diggs misses with a left hand
and Brophy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Diggs wants to clinch up but Brophy keeps it at a distance.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Brophy! But no joy.
Brophy misses with a few strikes there.
Diggs takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Brophy throws the left hand but Diggs avoids the punch easily.
Diggs was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Brophy cracks the inside of Diggs's front leg.
Diggs tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Diggs throws a leg kick
and Brophy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Diggs throws a lazy head kick
and Brophy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Diggs. Brophy does a little dance to reset his feet.
A little jabbing left from Brophy on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Brophy counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brophy jabs Diggs right on the nose. Diggs blinks but takes it well.
Brophy misses the body punch
and Diggs counters with a one-two to the body.
Brophy is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Diggs had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Diggs misses the shot to the body.
It seemed like Brophy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Diggs misses the body punch
and Brophy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A swing and a miss from Diggs.
A jab from Brophy finds it's way through Diggs's defenses.
Diggs tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Brophy let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Brophy sends Diggs crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Brophy is motioning to the referee to let Diggs up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Robert Diggs has been cut.
Diggs scores with a nice strike.
Diggs misses with a lunging right hand

and Brophy counters with a nice right hand that sends Diggs toppling to the canvas! Diggs scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Brophy finish him?!
Red Brophy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Diggs walks straight into a right hand from Brophy - that's dropped him! Brophy jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Diggs from any more punishment! Diggs complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
