Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devon Bailey (ranked 1250 p4p, 172 weight class) and Sendou Kitano (ranked 1130 p4p, 159 weight class). Kitano is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hokuto No Ken - You wa Shock. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Devon Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Sendou Kitano!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kitano throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bailey throws a right hand that misses
and Kitano counters with a nice body shot.
Bailey takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kitano moves out of range as Bailey strikes.
Bailey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kitano appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
We've been told by Bailey's head coaches at Private Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kitano smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


It looks like Devon Bailey has been cut.
Kitano looks to score with a jab to the body but Bailey is just out of range.
Bailey swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Kitano blocks a head kick by Bailey.
Kitano looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kitano turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A big right from Bailey misses.
Kitano with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kitano dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bailey. That did some damage!

Kitano throws a leg kick but Bailey sees it coming and checks it nicely.
We've been informed that Kitano has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Kitano smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kitano takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Bailey misses with a hook. Kitano ducked under it nicely.
Bailey swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bailey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kitano blocks a head kick by Bailey.
Kitano only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Bailey lands a body shot.
Bailey throws a jab when Kitano was well out of range.
Bailey moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kitano takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Sendou Kitano has been cut.
Bailey misses with a left hand
and Kitano connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bailey throws a lazy right hand but Kitano sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Kitano.
Bailey lands with a cross.
Bailey avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bailey is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kitano.
Bailey throws a hook but Kitano avoids it easily.
Bailey is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kitano. That's going to slow Bailey down.
Bailey misses with a straight right.
Kitano throws out a counter right but Bailey avoids it with no problem.
Bailey cracks Kitano with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bailey is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kitano.
Kitano thumps Bailey with a low kick.
A jab from Bailey misses.
Bailey misses with a hook.
Kitano connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bailey. Bailey circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


Devon Bailey's cut is getting worse.

Bailey lands a big head kick that sends Kitano tumbling to the mat! Bailey takes a step backwards and waves Kitano back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Kitano is rocked!
Kitano ducks into an uppercut from Bailey and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Devon Bailey!
Devon Bailey was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
