Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Wackson (ranked 5798 p4p, 451 weight class) and Will Charles (ranked 3234 p4p, 327 weight class). The key to victory for Michael Wackson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Wackson !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Will Charles!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wackson scores with a one two! Charles had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Wackson fails to land with a series of punches.

Charles shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wackson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Wackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Wackson wants to stand but Charles is controlling the position.
Charles postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Charles accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Charles throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Wackson has his hands on Charles's head, controlling the position.
Wackson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Charles trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wackson stuffs the takedown attempt from Charles. Charles gets slowly back to his feet.
Wackson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Charles fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wackson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Wackson .

Wackson feinted with a counter takedown.
Wackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Charles is looking for the big counter here.
Wackson wants to clinch up but Charles keeps it at a distance.

Charles tries to move into range but Wackson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wackson lands with a nice combination. Charles backs away looking to recover.

Wackson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Charles counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wackson won't be happy with that.
Charles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Charles tries to score with some ground and pound. Wackson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Charles throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Wackson works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Charles scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Charles looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wackson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Still in half guard, Charles seems content to control.

Charles is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Charles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wackson keeps working.
Wackson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Charles lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Wackson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Charles scores with a couple of nice shots.

Charles is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wackson defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Will Charles will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Charles's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wackson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Charles scrambles back to his feet.
Wackson tries to clinch but Charles moves out of range.
Wackson sets himself, and Charles steps forward looking for the clinch! Wackson avoids it this time.
Wackson throws a right and a left that Charles avoids nicely.
Charles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wackson circles away.
Michael Wackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Charles is breathing heavily.

Charles controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Charles wants to control from the top but Wackson keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Wackson slaps away a takedown attempt from Charles, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Michael Wackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Charles.
Nice uppercut lands for Wackson . That snapped Charles's head back.

Wackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Charles closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Charles fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Wackson can't break the clinch.

Charles has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Wackson regains guard immediately.

Wackson wriggles free and stands up.

Charles drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wackson has his feet on Charles's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oh Wackson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Charles drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Charles jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Charles stands up over Wackson , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Charles postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Wackson covers up, he's hurt! Charles keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Charles and the ref steps in to end the fight! Charles can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Will Charles!
A relieved looking Will Charles thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
