Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dyami Yazzie (ranked 4083 p4p, 420 weight class) and Dale Steyn (ranked 3412 p4p, 370 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dyami Yazzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dale Steyn!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yazzie slips a jab from Steyn.
Steyn just misses with a punch to the body.
Steyn throws an overhand right that lands on Yazzie's shoulder, as Yazzie tries to avoid the shot.
Yazzie attempts a counter takedown but Steyn avoids it well and moves away.
Steyn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yazzie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Yazzie changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Steyn blocks a leg kick.
Yazzie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Yazzie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Steyn to the mat! Steyn manages to get full guard.
Yazzie stays in close to Steyn's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yazzie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steyn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yazzie throws a big elbow that misses.
Steyn can't keep his opponent in guard - Yazzie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Yazzie wants to work for an arm triangle but Steyn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Steyn can do anything to dispel that myth.

Yazzie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Yazzie is trying to control the action in half guard but Steyn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Yazzie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Steyn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Yazzie in particular looking to stall.
Steyn is looking to control Yazzie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Steyn avoid being mounted?
Yazzie is looking for a kimura here.

Yazzie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steyn keeps working.
Yazzie tries to pass to full mount but Steyn defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steyn is concentrating on defense, preventing Yazzie from advancing position.
Yazzie thows a huge punch but Steyn dodges it nicely.
Yazzie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Steyn is refusing to be controlled, as Yazzie sits in half guard.
Yazzie works his way into side control.
Yazzie trying to control the position but Steyn is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yazzie in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Steyn is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
