PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thaddeus Patel (ranked 4624 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mati Karppinen (ranked 5950 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karppinen throws a sloppy head kick

and Patel counters with a takedown into side control.
Karppinen is looking to get back to his feet here but Patel is keeping cool and he's managed to take Karppinen's back.

Karppinen defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Patel's arms.
Patel keeps control of the position as Karppinen tries to break free.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karppinen is trying to get back to his feet but Patel has full control of the position and if anything, Karppinen has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Patel is looking for a rear naked choke here but Karppinen reverses the position brilliantly into Patel's guard!

That was a close second round but I would say that Thaddeus Patel will probably get the nod.

Mati Karppinen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Karppinen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
