And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Samuel Boom!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talley has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Raymundo Talley has been cut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Boom blocks an uppercut.
Talley stalls.
Talley is trying to pull guard but Boom turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Boom stands and steps away. Talley gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Boom shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Talley pinned against the cage. Talley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boom throws a low kick but Talley moves out of range easily.

Boom swings for the body but Talley moves out of range.

Boom feints a jab promting Talley to slip. Boom then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Talley slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Talley tries to keep at a distance but Boom has taken the fight into the clinch.
Boom tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Talley just stands there and leans against the cage.

Talley pushes Boom off looking to stand but Boom dives back in and keeps control.

Boom decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Talley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boom sprawls well. Boom wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Talley gets slowly back to his feet.
Boom throws a head kick but Talley moves out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boom lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Boom closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Talley stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Talley is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Boom has Talley pushed against the cage.
Boom blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Talley is trying to push Boom away but Boom has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Boom is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Talley gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Boom is fighting off a takedown attempt but Talley is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Boom to the mat. Boom regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Talley is standing up over Boom. Boom looks to escape but Talley dives into side control.

Boom takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Boom is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Boom gets back to half guard.

Boom with the active half guard here but Talley passes nicely into side control.
Boom parries the strikes from Talley easily there. Talley is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Boom to escape.

Talley has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Talley shoots in for a takedown but Boom shows good takedown defense.

Boom manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Talley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Boom is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Talley leaves Boom with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Horrible takedown attempt by Boom or perhaps it was just good defense by Talley, which made it look bad.
Talley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boom's waist but Boom gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Talley off to one side.
Boom wants to counter with a clinch but Talley pushes him away.
Talley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boom sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Talley somewhat.

Talley manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Samuel Boom is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boom is trying to break the clinch but Talley is controlling him.
Raymundo Talley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
