Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grisha Kamenov (ranked 2111 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Red (ranked 3671 p4p, 0 weight class). Kamenov's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Linkin Park - Bleed It Out. Kurt Red has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 20 - 3, fighting out of New York, Grisha Kamenov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Red!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamenov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Red looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kamenov tries a head kick but it misses.
Kamenov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Red lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Red shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kamenov as he jumps to the side.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kamenov enables Red to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kamenov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kamenov seems keen to control Red's posture.
Red pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kamenov is keeping the position for now.
Kamenov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kamenov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kamenov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kamenov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Red really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kamenov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kamenov stands up and beckons Red to his feet.
Red takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Red shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kamenov pinned against the cage. Kamenov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A left and a right from Kamenov both land. Nice combination.
Red takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Kamenov throws a head kick that Red semi-blocks.

Kamenov avoids the body shot from Red.
Kamenov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Red shoots in but no luck this time.
Grisha Kamenov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kurt Red.
Kamenov connects with an inside leg kick.
Kamenov scores with a head kick. Red tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Red drags the fight down to the ground.

Red is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kamenov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kamenov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Red's guard.

Kamenov is working for a kimura but Red is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Red can do anything to dispel that myth.
Red wants to control but Kamenov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kamenov moves into full mount! Red won't be happy about that!

Red is squirming around, avoiding Kamenov's attempts to control the action.
Red sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Kamenov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Red doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kamenov.
Kamenov is trying to control. Red wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kamenov is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kamenov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Red on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Red blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Kamenov scores with a knee to the head.


It looks like Kurt Red has been cut.
Kamenov looking to throw knees to the head but Red is blocking nicely.
Kamenov with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Red wants to take the fight to the mat but Kamenov manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Red tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kamenov smiles and moves away.

Red shoots in for a double leg but Kamenov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Red pushes Kamenov up against the cage in a clinch.
Kamenov scores with a knee to the head.

Red is breathing heavily.
Kamenov lands a knee to the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kamenov comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


Red is rocked!
Kamenov lands a big knee to the head and Red goes down! Kamenov pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

An out of breath Grisha Kamenov thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
