The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BigBully is looking to chop away at Richards's legs.

BigBully closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Richards pushes BigBully off and gets back to his feet.
Richards throws a head kick that misses.
BigBully wants to counter the offense by Richards and move into the clinch position.

BigBully shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Richards is trying to defend but BigBully finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

BigBully wants to work for an arm triangle but Richards is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
BigBully really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richards. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Richards is trying to maintain the position but BigBully is very close to passing his half guard.

Richards is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but BigBully pulls his head out easily.

BigBully tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Richards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

BigBully is trying to work for a kimura but Richards is defending well.
BigBully wants to lay and pray for a moment but Richards keeps working.
BigBully misses with a head shot. Richards uses the momentum to regain guard.
BigBully tries to free his leg and advance position but Richards is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Richards has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think BigBully should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Richards has tightened it up now! BigBully should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
