PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lee Sin (ranked 5207 p4p, 428 weight class) and Boom Laka (ranked 6774 p4p, 488 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Sin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Boom Laka!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sin keeps Laka at a distance using the push kick.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Laka for as long as he can get away with.

Laka fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Sin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Laka can do to turn this around?

Laka tries to bum rush Sin with a series of wild strikes but Sin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Laka connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sin momentarily.

Boom Laka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Laka takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Boom Laka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Laka bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sin's head backwards.
Laka will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Boom Laka seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Sin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Boom Laka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Sin. Laka shrugs it off though.

Laka tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Laka felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Sin lands a big shot there that rocks Laka but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
