Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between HL Mencken (ranked 77 p4p, 10 weight class) and Link Gaetz (ranked 242 p4p, 39 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, HL Mencken!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Link Gaetz!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mencken throws a body shot but no joy.
Gaetz jabs at Mencken's body.
Mencken takes a swing at Gaetz's ribcage but misses.
Gaetz tries to land a front kick but Mencken steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Mencken throws a shot from downtown. Gaetz moves away and avoids it.
Gaetz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A big left from Mencken misses.
Gaetz is looking to slow Mencken down with leg kicks.
Gaetz has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gaetz throws a hook but Mencken blocks it.
A little feinted left hand from Mencken on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Gaetz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like HL Mencken has been cut.
Mencken throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gaetz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mencken.
Mencken was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Mencken misses with a combination
letting Gaetz counter with a right hand.
Mencken walks into a stiff left hand from Gaetz.
Mencken pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Mencken looks to score with a jab to the body but Gaetz is just out of range.
Gaetz fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gaetz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gaetz lands with a straight right. Mencken didn't see that one coming.

Mencken is rocked!
Gaetz misses with a body kick.

Gaetz drops Mencken with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mencken looks back up at him and smiles so Gaetz waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Mencken is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mencken misses with a lunging right hand
and Gaetz counters with a right hand to the body.
Mencken seems to have got his legs back now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mencken throws a series of punches but Gaetz avoids them all with ease.
Gaetz defending well as Mencken loads up on a big left hand.
Gaetz throws a body shot but no joy.
Gaetz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mencken.

Gaetz sends Mencken crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gaetz is motioning to the referee to let Mencken up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Gaetz knocks out Mencken with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Gaetz before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Gaetz picks up the big W with a huge KO!
