Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edgar Hanson (ranked 6200 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Ferguson (ranked 4659 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Edgar Hanson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Edgar Hanson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanson scores with a spinning back kick!

Hanson rushes Ferguson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ferguson gets control of Hanson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ferguson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ferguson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hanson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hanson stands up from Ferguson's guard - Hanson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Ferguson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hanson.
Ferguson throws a body shot but no joy.

Hanson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hanson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hanson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ferguson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hanson.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
