Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kribbson Jr (ranked 5104 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bass Rotten (ranked 5357 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rotten tries to land a body kick

and Jr moves into the clinch.

Jr is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rotten can't fight it off and eventually Jr manages to take the fight to the floor. Rotten looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jr stands up from Rotten's guard - Jr perhaps looking for a knockout.

Jr rushes Rotten and presses him up against the cage.

Jr decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rotten trying to control but Jr is working from the bottom.

Jr is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Jr really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jr breaks from the clinch.

Jr is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rotten's half guard.
Jr controlling the action here.

Rotten trying to hold on to Jr's head to control him but Jr postures up.
Jr is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Rotten gets back to full guard.
Jr slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Jr decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Bass Rotten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jr fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rotten, pushing him back against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Jr tries to score a body lock takedown but Rotten shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Jr manages to pull guard.
Rotten stopping the sweep attempt from Jr.
Rotten must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jr is pulling down on Rotten's head to control his posture.
Jr tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jr controlling the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jr is on top in guard.

Jr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jr stands up from Rotten's guard - Jr perhaps looking for a knockout.
Rotten scores with a shot to the body.

Jr looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rotten!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jr scores with punches from side control.

Jr is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Rotten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jr lands a nice forearm strike.
Jr working away.
Rotten is looking for a sweep.

Jr is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rotten has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kribbson Jr dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Jr clinches.

Jr works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Jr is standing up over Rotten. Rotten looks to escape but Jr dives into side control.

Jr cracks Rotten with a big elbow.

Jr has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rotten throws a leg kick that is checked

and Jr counters with a single leg into guard. Rotten didn't expect that.
Rotten wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jr manages to pass to side control.
Kribbson Jr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jr content to control rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rotten wants to control but Jr is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Jr is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rotten is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jr is working for a kimura but Rotten is defending it quite comfortably.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jr in particular looking to stall.
Jr uses his free foot to push down on Rotten's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rotten.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jr controlling his opponent.
Rotten tries to improve his position but instead Jr has taken his back!
Jr is hanging on to Rotten's back as he tries to escape.
Jr is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Rotten grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jr biding his time, looking for the opening.
Jr seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rotten for as long as he can get away with.

Jr is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Rotten defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Jr loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Rotten hold on?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jr keeps control of the position as Rotten tries to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kribbson Jr dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Rotten throws a sloppy head kick

and Jr counters by clinching up.

Jr gets control of Rotten's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jr will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Rotten looking to sit in guard and control but Jr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jr content to stall in guard here.
Jr lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jr stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Rotten gets caught flat footed, as Jr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jr controlling from the top position.

Jr stands up from Rotten's guard - Jr perhaps looking for a knockout.

Rotten wants to land a leg kick but Jr is out of range.
Jr tries to counter by clinching up but Rotten breaks away and moves out of range.

Rotten gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rotten is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Jr dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jr is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rotten's shoulder. That is not cool.
Jr throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rotten striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Jr taking a breather here.

Jr stands up and beckons Rotten to his feet.

Jr closes the distance and clinches.

Jr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jr decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jr is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rotten defends it well.
Jr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rotten can do to turn this around?

Jr escapes and gets back to his feet.
Rotten is looking to score with low kicks.

Jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rotten to the mat! Rotten manages to get full guard.
Rotten is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Jr dives into side control.

Rotten tries to improve position but can't.
A lull in the action here as Jr stalls from top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rotten is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jr connects with a decent elbow.

Jr is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rotten knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Rotten seems a little lost for a moment, as Jr dominates the positioning.
Rotten is trying to get back to half guard.
Bass Rotten has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kribbson Jr is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Jr is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rotten is trying to escape and Jr transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rotten is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jr! Very nice indeed!
