Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeromy Whitehead (ranked 7358 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uresteler DaBaea (ranked 25031 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jeromy Whitehead has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeromy Whitehead!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Uresteler DaBaea!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitehead moves in looking to clinch but DaBaea pushes him off.
DaBaea looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Whitehead shoots in and drives through. DaBaea sprawls well.

DaBaea forces Whitehead back against the cage and clinches.

DaBaea stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Whitehead swivels though and keeps the full guard.

DaBaea has gone for a leg lock! Whitehead slips out almost immediately though and dives into DaBaea's guard.

Uresteler DaBaea showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Whitehead's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Whitehead gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Whitehead holds on and takes a little breather.
DaBaea has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Whitehead manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, DaBaea creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Whitehead enables DaBaea to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Whitehead manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Whitehead will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

DaBaea closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Whitehead did well to prevent DaBaea getting side control.

Whitehead tries to score a power double leg takedown but DaBaea sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Whitehead somewhat.

Whitehead throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. DaBaea was covering up waiting for the punch and Whitehead finishes the takedown easily into guard.

DaBaea wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well DaBaea has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
