The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernandez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taktarov swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Taktarov clinches.
Taktarov lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Fernandez backwards.

Fernandez tries to throw a body punch but Taktarov avoids it by throwing Fernandez back against the cage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Taktarov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Fernandez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Taktarov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

The fight stays on the outside here - Fernandez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Taktarov could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
