Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Askren (ranked 350 p4p, 56 weight class) and Kimmo Kallio (ranked 684 p4p, 113 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Matt Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimmo Kallio!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Askren counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Kallio is staying active underneath Askren, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Askren has picked Kallio up - he's going for a ride! Askren dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Kallio has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Askren lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Askren shoots for a takedown but Kallio saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kallio throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Askren stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
