Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Theodore Daniel (ranked 24864 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dane Bloodbeard (ranked 5259 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Theodore Daniel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dane Bloodbeard!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daniel lands in his opponent's guard.
Bloodbeard looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bloodbeard is on top in guard.

Bloodbeard postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bloodbeard is in close to Daniel's body, working some short punches and elbows.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Daniel holds on and takes a little breather.
Bloodbeard works over Daniel with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bloodbeard is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bloodbeard is pressing down on Daniel's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bloodbeard wants to clinch up but Daniel keeps it at a distance.

and Daniel decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bloodbeard's guard.

Bloodbeard wants to hit a switch here but Daniel passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Bloodbeard there!

Daniel has control of Bloodbeard's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bloodbeard regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bloodbeard tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Daniel could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Daniel pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Bloodbeard is pressing down on Daniel's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bloodbeard tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bloodbeard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Daniel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bloodbeard lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bloodbeard wants to control from the top but Daniel keeps moving.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Theodore Daniel will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Bloodbeard looks to clinch
and Daniel counters with a nice uppercut.
Bloodbeard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Daniel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Daniel went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Bloodbeard has managed to clinch.

Bloodbeard tightens his grip and picks Daniel up, before dumping him to the ground. Daniel manages to land in guard.

Daniel is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Bloodbeard gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Daniel regains guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Daniel has his foot on Bloodbeard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bloodbeard works his way back into a safe position though.

Bloodbeard tries to free his leg and advance position but Daniel is retaining full guard.
Bloodbeard keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Daniel's head.

Daniel is rocked!
Daniel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Oh Daniel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bloodbeard postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Daniel covers up, he's hurt! Bloodbeard keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Bloodbeard and the ref steps in to end the fight! Bloodbeard can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dane Bloodbeard!
Dane Bloodbeard seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
