PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kamakiri Yoritomo (ranked 2078 p4p, 270 weight class) and Lynn Steinheiser (ranked 2701 p4p, 326 weight class). Yoritomo comes to the cage accompanied by Praying Mantis - Praying Mantis. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steinheiser takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Steinheiser takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Yoritomo lands a slapping body shot.

Yoritomo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Steinheiser pulls his head out easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yoritomo wants to stand but Steinheiser has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kamakiri Yoritomo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Steinheiser decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yoritomo's guard.

Yoritomo has his foot on Steinheiser's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Steinheiser works his way back into a safe position though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steinheiser is landing with some decent strikes but Yoritomo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Oh Yoritomo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yoritomo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steinheiser on the ground.
Steinheiser connects with a bit shot that sees Yoritomo covering up! More strikes from Steinheiser and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Steinheiser is our winner by TKO!
