Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hamish Reid (ranked 521 p4p, 84 weight class) and Akeen Coker (ranked 491 p4p, 80 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coker slips under a jab from Reid.
Reid misses with an uppercut. Coker saw that one coming.

and Coker counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Reid attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Coker tries a quick counter leg kick but Reid is wise to it.
A slow jab from Reid misses its intended target.
Reid scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Coker with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Reid to score with a decent uppercut.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Reid.
Reid takes one to the side of the head.
A left lands for Reid.
Coker's coach down at White Eagle was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Coker's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Crack! A monster head kick from Coker and Reid falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Coker!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Akeen Coker!
