Gyos's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, It's Raining Men. James Howlett acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Howlett!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gyos shoots in for a takedown but Howlett shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Howlett connects with an inside leg kick.
Gyos shoots in looking for a takedown but Howlett manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gyos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Howlett scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Gyos ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Gyos moves out of range as Howlett strikes.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dimitri Gyos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Howlett wants to clinch.
Gyos tries to land a front kick but Howlett steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Gyos dives in for a single leg takedown but Howlett sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

and Howlett counters with a left and a right that stings Gyos.

Gyos appears to be looking for a big counter.
Howlett has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Howlett rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gyos moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gyos has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Jeez, Dimitri Gyos's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dimitri Gyos's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). James Howlett!
Dimitri Gyos was interviewed post fight and said 'This is a brutal sport, but this won't stop me from chasing my dream of a world title.'.
