Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sisu Sisu (ranked 967 p4p, 100 weight class) and Snappy Whiplash (ranked 975 p4p, 101 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sisu Sisu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Snappy Whiplash!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ron Honeybunn and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whiplash misses with a straight left.
Whiplash has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sisu is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Whiplash jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Sisu doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Whiplash counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Whiplash tries to land a front kick but Sisu steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sisu tries to counter with a takedown but Whiplash is quick to defend against it.
Whiplash throws a series of punches but Sisu moves out of range.
Whiplash looks for the body kick but Sisu saw that one coming.
Whiplash buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Good shot there by Sisu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Whiplash.
Whiplash throws a body kick that misses.
Sisu changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Sisu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Whiplash wants to get back to full guard but Sisu has passed into side control.
Whiplash is looking to reverse the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Whiplash can do anything to dispel that myth.

Whiplash is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sisu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Whiplash keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sisu shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Whiplash scores with a jab to the body.
Sisu is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Sisu shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Whiplash's guard.

A close round but Snappy Whiplash will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Whiplash throws a solid leg kick but Sisu takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Whiplash.

Sisu throws a nice looking combination but Whiplash bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Sisu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sisu lands in his opponent's guard.
Sisu is standing up over Whiplash. Whiplash looks to escape but Sisu dives into side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sisu remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Whiplash is trying to control Sisu's posture but Sisu avoids it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Whiplash stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Whiplash avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Whiplash pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sisu appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

and Sisu counters with a shoot takedown. Whiplash fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

so Sisu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Whiplash is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Whiplash isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sisu stacks Whiplash on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sisu!
Whiplash is looking for a sweep.
Sisu Sisu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sisu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Whiplash is fending him off so far but Sisu persists. Nope, Whiplash circles away and we're back to standing.

Sisu seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Whiplash is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sisu is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
