Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Glass Joe (ranked 596 p4p, 30 weight class) and Kisada Hida (ranked 1971 p4p, 113 weight class). Joe's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, La Marseillaise. Hida has chosen Noisestorm - Crab Rave as his entrance music. Glass Joe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Glass Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kisada Hida!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hida avoids the body shot from Joe.
Hida on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Joe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A jab lands there for Joe.
Joe stuns Hida with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Joe swats away the attempt to clinch by Hida.
Hida fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Hida connects with a good right hand that stumbles Joe. Joe circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hida misses with an uppercut
and Joe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hida clinches.
Hida wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Joe has him pressed against the cage.
Hida tries to work over Joe's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hida is trying to push Joe away but Joe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Joe scores with a shoulder strike.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hida wants to break free but Joe has control.

Hida is trying to force a seperation but Joe has the dominant position.
Joe scores with a shoulder strike.
Joe softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Joe throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hidas head.
Hida can't break the clinch.
Hida is trying to break the clinch but Joe is controlling him.
Joe has Hida pressed against the cage, preventing Hida from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Hida tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Joe paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Joe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hida thinking.
Joe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hida throws out the jab.
Hida swings for the body but Joe moves out of range.
Joe circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hida gets a clinch.
Hida throws a punch but it's blocked by Joe.

Hida pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hida swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Joe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hida thinking.
Joe ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hida throws a lazy uppercut
and Joe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Hida jabs Joe to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Hida has closed the distance and engaged Joe in a clinch.
Joe keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hida's efforts to push away.
Joe looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Joe prevents a body shot from Hida.
Hida is trying to break free.
Hida can't break the clinch.

Joe is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Joe throws out a loose jab but Hida uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hida connects with the punch.
Joe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hida avoids the body shot from Joe.
Hida throws an off balance right hand
and Joe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hida throws a sloppy body shot
and Joe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hida fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hida wants to clinch
and Joe counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Joe jabs Hida to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Joe. Hida does a little dance to reset his feet.
Joe tests Hida's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A lazy left from Joe finds it's target.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Joe moves into range and connects with a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Joe throws a body shot but no joy.
Glass Joe is winning the standup battle so far.

Hida gets a clinch.
Hida throws a head punch that misses.
Joe misses with some punches.
Hida wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Joe lands a right hand.
Hida is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Joe tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Joe scores with a shot to the side of Hida's head.
Hida scores with a nice hook to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Joe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hida scores with a jab. Joe acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Joe takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The crowd cheers as Joe lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hida doesn't seem phased though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Joe lands with a left to the head.
Hida tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hida.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Joe lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Joe works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A hook to the body from Hida.

Hida's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Joe jabs at Hida's body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Joe, as that shot connected.
Hida goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Hida throws a body punch but Joe moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Joe throws a hook to the side of Hida's head but Hida sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Hida drives through and clinches with Joe against the cage.
Joe working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Joe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hida jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Joe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hida stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Joe lands with a right hand.
Joe slips under a jab from Hida.
Hida fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Joe manages to avoid it.
Hida drops his hands momentarily and Joe takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Hida misses the body punch
and Joe counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hida takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Joe scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hida in his tracks.
Hida is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Joe rather than just go for the knockout.
Joe throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hida on the side of the head.
Kisada Hida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hida looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Joe's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hida tries to work over Joe's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hida tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Hida doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Hida is looking to break free of the clinch but Joe has double underhooks.

Joe lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Hida takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Hida closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hida is trying to push Joe away but Joe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Joe blocks a body shot from Hida.

Hida breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Glass Joe will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Joe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Joe throws a shot from downtown. Hida moves away and avoids it.

Joe lands a left and a right that send Hida crashing to the mat, dazed. Joe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hida misses with a looping left.
Hida swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hida throws a big shot that misses.
Joe drops Hida with a straight right hand, right on the button! Joe follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glass Joe!
Our winner, Glass Joe, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Kisada Hida spoke after the fight, saying 'I wonder why his fists keeps getting bigger until I got hit.'.
