PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bong Ji Woo (ranked 1041 p4p, 69 weight class) and Ken Miller (ranked 2129 p4p, 136 weight class). Ji Woo comes to the ring accompanied by 나쁜 달 상승. Miller has chosen 2pac - Im A Souljah as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bong Ji Woo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Miller!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller slips under a jab from Ji Woo.
Ji Woo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ji Woo misses with an uppercut. Miller saw that one coming.
Miller tries for a takedown but Ji Woo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ji Woo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ji Woo seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Miller takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Miller has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That was a close round but I would say that Bong Ji Woo will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ji Woo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Miller can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Miller got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ji Woo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Miller has managed to get both his arms back between Ji Woo's legs - danger averted.

A close second round but Ken Miller will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Horrible takedown attempt by Miller or perhaps it was just good defense by Ji Woo, which made it look bad.

A quick step to the side and Ji Woo tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miller moves out of range of the leg kick from Ji Woo.
Miller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ji Woo tries to avoid it but Miller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ji Woo to the ground. Ji Woo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A punch lands to the side of Miller 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Bong Ji Woo showed his dominance in that final round.

A very excited looking Bong Ji Woo rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
